Celebrating 50 Years

We’re Golden

Some milestones are meant to be celebrated all year long. Hacienda’s 50th Anniversary is no exception. On September 28, 2017, the Hacienda family of clients, staff, and community partners gathered to honor the past, celebrate the present, and dream about the future.

Nearly 200 guests graced our campus with their presence and heard the remarkable stories of three amazing families that molded Hacienda into what it is today—Gerry Schwartz, niece of Hacienda de Los Angeles’ founder, Ilene Butler; Ed Jones, son of dedicated caregiver of 40 years, Mary Baker; and Chris Gonzalez, wife of the late Dr. Felipe Gonzalez, Medical Director of Los Niños Hospital. All three spoke with pride as they recounted the impact that each of their loved ones had on the lives touched by Hacienda.

Bill Timmons, Hacienda’s CEO, unveiled portraits of each honoree; the portraits were painted by Tom Pomeroy, President of Hacienda’s Board of Directors. The evening ended with a musical number performed by former US Congressman and long-time advocate of Hacienda HealthCare, Matt Salmon.
