Laura Knaperek Nurse Training Scholarship

Laura Knaperek Nurse Training Scholarship

In memory of Laura Knaperek, advocate extraordinaire, we establish the Nurse Training Scholarship of $1,000 annually to be given in her honor.

Photo of Laura KnaperekLaura was one of Hacienda’s, and those entrusted to our care, strongest and most effective supporter and advocate for more than a quarter of a century.

Whether it was an existing intellectually disabled consumer or a potential member of the Hacienda family, Laura was by their side helping to navigate the often confusing State bureaucracy and, as necessary, helping to assure that their rights were not violated.

Laura’s advocacy also played a key role in Hacienda being able to effectively address challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

This scholarship recognizes Laura Knaperek, advocate extraordinaire, whose commitment of time and energy had a significant positive impact on the lives of Hacienda’s clients, their families, employees and supporters.
